Descriptions:

Muskegon Community College is offering help with the financial aid process for anyone considering attending college. MCC can help you cut through the red tape!

Please bring your own electronic device to fill out your FAFSA. MCC has limited quantities of laptops available.

If you are a potential college student, or the parent of a potential college student, odds are you have heard about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA evaluates eligibility for need-based aid, including federal loans, and gives students access to need-based grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study.

The earlier you submit the FAFSA, the better. Early applicants generally have a wider variety of financial aid opportunities. The process begins October 1 of the prior year you plan to enroll.

The income reported on the FAFSA will be from two years prior to the application year (referred to as "Prior-Prior Year"), rather than only one year prior to the application year.  This change has made the FAFSA easier because you will have your completed income tax information available at the time of application.
